Following YAB Prime Minister’s announcement on 29 July 2020 pertaining to three-month loan/ financing moratorium extension and assistance to targeted groups as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Maybank Islamic Berhad (“MIB”) has made available an automatic moratorium extension for 3 months effective 1 October 2020 to 31 December 2020. The automatic moratorium extension (“MIB RTO Moratorium”) applies to all customers who have participated in our HouzKEY program and where the Lease Agreement is signed on or before 30 September 2020.
Here are some information that you need to be aware of the HouzKEY Moratorium:
It is a temporary deferment of financing payment obligation (principal and profit) where customers with financing do not need to make any payment for 3 months (from 1 October 2020 to 31 December 2020).
Applicable for monthly payment from 1 October 2020 to 31 December 2020.
Monthly payment continue to be charged/ accrued during moratorium period but will not be compounded.
Deferred monthly payment will be converted into equal instalment over the remaining financing tenure post moratorium period.
Financing period will be extended by the same moratorium period; hence the monthly payment schedule will be revised accordingly. The advice will be communicated to you accordingly prior to the expiry of moratorium period.
Your profit rate will be affected in the event there is a change in the Islamic Base Rate during the moratorium period. Hence, your payment amount will be recomputed and communicated to you accordingly.
If you wish to opt-out from this HouzKEY Moratorium, please email to m2own@maybank.com on or before 14 September 2020. Please be reminded that if you opt-out, you must continue to make timely and full payment of your financing and to settle all outstanding amount due up to payment date. If we do not receive any response from you by the deadline mentioned, it is deemed that you have accepted the HouzKEY Moratorium offer.
